9th Annual Danielle DeLarso Community benefit tournament

Pequea Valley Youth Baseball is hosting the 9th Annual Danielle DeLarso Tournament on August 25th and 26th. This is a baseball tournament to benefit a child in the Pequea Valley area that is facing difficult medical challenges.

Danielle DeLarso was diagnosed with Stage 4 Clear Cell Sarcoma in June of 2010 at 16 years old. Danielle was an Honor Roll Student at Pequea Valley High School and a recognized talented athlete. Danielle was excited for her senior year and very proud to be a part of PV’s Class of 2012. In Danielle’s honor, a group from our local youth sports organizations decided to hold an event that would generate not only money to be distributed to local families in need, but would bring our community together for a common cause.

This year’s recipient is Teagan, a 2.5 year old boy. In October of 2017 doctors found a 2.5x3.8 mass on the left side of his brain on the cerebellum in the fourth ventricle area. He had surgery at Hershey children’s hospital mid-October. Teagan did amazing with his surgery, and his surgeon Dr. Dias was able to remove about 95% of his tumor. As of February the tumor was back as 6 small tumors, after another surgery the mass was completely removed! He is now dealing with Fossa syndrome and sixth nerve palsy which requires intense rehab. You can follow his journey on Facebook at Teagan Strong Our Hero.
